Journay Entry 1 (14SEP10)

1. Write a one paragraph summary of the article you brought to class.

Microsoft has made alot of poor choices lately. Including deciding to "give up" on making more phones, computer software, and hardware.  “Except for gaming, it is ‘game over’ for Microsoft in the consumer market.” Mark Anderson of the New York Times Buisness claimed in one interview. The core revenue for Microsoft is their Game Studios, making $1.5 billion last year, is the only thing holding Microsoft alive. And with poor choices, Microsoft is loosing Gamers left-right-and center.

2. Write a one paragraph responce to the article.

Growing up I as a gamer I was loyal to Nintendo. It took years for me to transfer over to Sony and their Playstation. But with a increased amount of great games for the Playstation, the transition was alot less painful then expected. Then came Microsoft's XBox. With a powerful compant like Microsoft backing the research and development of thier own console, it blew the rest out of the water. It was like taking a Fiarri back to cavemen times. The quality of the games and the ability to fit longer better games on a CD and have a small machine strong enough to run graphics that the most advanced Desktop computer can handle. And with alot of smaller companies leaving Microsoft Gaming Studios on grounds that Microsoft is more involved with making thier own money and not supporting smaller companies, Microsoft is going downhill...quickly.
